Why these numbers

The Bravion already rotates — a near 50/50 saloon with a rev-happy engine that will oversteer on power and on lift. So the job here is the opposite of a muscle car: calm the rear rather than wake it. The Differential runs less power lock than a nose-heavy car needs (it doesn’t need help rotating), with a helping of coast lock to settle the lift-off snap into corners.

The rest is a steadying hand. Brake balance sits forward to stop the entry snap, the rear anti-roll bar stays soft for exit traction, and rear toe-in keeps the tail planted. Follow the surface for everything else: locked diff and soft/high on loose, opener diff and stiff/low on grip. Brake Pressure’s scale runs 50–150%, so 100% is mid-travel, not the maximum.

Why these changes

On asphalt the Bravion has grip to lean on, but the rev-happy rear will still snap if you get greedy. The springs and bars stiffen, brake pressure climbs, and the car drops closer to the road — and the diff opens up: on high grip a locked diff breaks both rear wheels loose together, so a looser diff keeps the exit progressive.

Roll onto the throttle in one smooth motion out of the corner. This is a point-and-shoot exit car when you’re patient with the right foot; jab it and the tail steps out.

Why these changes

Gravel is the middle ground and sits closest to the hybrid setup — the changes are small. The Bravion slides willingly and predictably here; steer it with the throttle and keep corrections small, which matters on a pad where a big stick input overshoots.

Let it rotate a touch on power and drive out, but don’t chase the slide — this car rewards a tidy line over a showy one.

Why these changes

Mud has the least grip, so the eager rear is easiest to catch out here. Soften the springs and bars, raise the ride height to clear the ruts, and lock the diff up: on low grip a tight diff drives both rear wheels instead of spinning the inside one away, and the loose surface still lets you steer with the throttle.

Feed the power in smoothly and let the nose lead — stabbing the throttle just lights the rear up and throws away the Bravion’s balance.

Overview

The Bravion is a compact rear-drive sports saloon in the mould of a BMW E46 3 Series, and it sits at the opposite end of the handling scale from the front-heavy muscle cars. Its weight is split close to 50/50 and the engine is rev-happy rather than torque-heavy, so it turns in eagerly and changes direction without a fight. The flip side of that balance is that the risk here is oversteer, not understeer — the tail will step out on power and it will also step out if you lift mid-corner.

How it drives

On tarmac the Bravion is a point-and-shoot car: the nose bites cleanly on entry and there is none of the reluctant, wide-pushing turn-in you get from a heavy V8. That willingness cuts both ways. Get greedy with the throttle on exit and the rear rotates under power; snap off the throttle mid-corner and lift-off oversteer swings it the other way. It rewards a tidy line and a smooth right foot far more than aggressive corrections.

On loose surfaces that rotation is easy to provoke and, once you trust it, easy to steer with the throttle — but it happens quickly, so it wants smaller inputs than a forgiving muscle car. Think of it as a car you place and drive out of, not one you throw at the corner.

In a pack it is lighter than the big sedans, so a solid hit will move it and can spin it if the tail is already loaded. Its defence is speed and agility rather than mass.
