Why these numbers

Two things drive the Hurricane’s setup more than anything else.

The Differential runs opposite to instinct — locked on loose, opener on grip. On mud and gravel, locking it drives both rear wheels for traction (the loose surface and the low-end torque still rotate the car). On asphalt, the torque-forward rear snaps both wheels loose together if the diff is tight, so open it up — further than the RoadSlayer, because the Hurricane bites harder. Come down more still if the exit is catching you out on a pad.

The Final Drive matters more here than on most cars because the engine runs out of revs early. Gearing it taller (toward top speed) keeps you in the fat part of the torque curve instead of bouncing off the limiter down the straights.

Everything else follows the surface, trimmed for the car: a stiffer front anti-roll bar than the rear to settle the mild entry understeer, and a soft rear bar so the rear hooks the torque up on exit.

Why these changes

Asphalt is where the torque-forward rear is most likely to bite. Stiffen the springs and front bar, drop the car, and — the key move — open the diff up and keep the rear bar soft, so the rear grips the tarmac and the power stays progressive instead of snapping both wheels loose together.

Gear it as long as the track allows to stay off the limiter, and keep some compliance for the bumps and kerbs so a mid-corner hit does not snap the rear loose.

Why these changes

Gravel is where the Hurricane is at its best, and it sits close to the hybrid setup. The power oversteer becomes a tool — back off to set the nose, then feed the torque to rotate and drive out.

Keep the rear bar soft so the slide is progressive rather than a snap, which matters on a pad where a big stick input overshoots.

Why these changes

The Hurricane’s lighter tail and low-down torque make it lively on mud — it rotates on the throttle without much persuasion. Soften and raise everything to ride the ruts, and lock the diff up for traction on the low grip: a tight diff drives both rear wheels instead of spinning the inside one away, and the loose surface still lets you steer with the throttle.

Gear it long even here — the early redline still bites, and wheelspin on mud is lost drive, not speed. Feed the throttle smoothly and let the rotation do the steering.

Overview

The Hurricane is a rear-drive muscle coupe cut from the same cloth as the RoadSlayer, but it drives differently enough to reward its own approach. It is lighter and nimbler, so it changes direction more willingly, and its engine makes its torque low in the rev range — which is where its two defining traits come from: it oversteers on power out of corners, and it runs out of revs early if you gear it like a peaky engine.

How it drives

On tarmac the Hurricane turns in with a touch of understeer, then the balance flips as you get on the throttle: the low-down torque lights up the rear and the tail comes around. That makes it lively and fun once you trust it, but it will snap if you stab the throttle mid-corner on a gamepad. The trick is a smooth, progressive right foot — feed the power in and let the rear settle.

On dirt and gravel that same power oversteer becomes the point. The Hurricane is happy to steer on the throttle and hold a slide, and its lighter weight means it does not take as much to rotate as the RoadSlayer. It is a natural loose-surface car.

The thing to manage everywhere is the gearing. Its low redline means it hits the limiter sooner than you expect, so it wants tall gearing that keeps it in the fat part of the torque curve rather than chasing revs it does not have.
